Head-On Collision Injures Four From Spokane Area
Four people were taken to Spokane area hospitals on Saturday morning after a head-on collision on U.S. Highway 395 near Deer Park.
The four victims, who all wore seat belts, were treated and released at Spokane area hospitals.
Michael R. Hughes, 24, of Spokane, was headed north just before 6 a.m. when his Datsun crossed into the southbound lane and hit a Toyota pickup driven by Wendy M. Strzelecki, 19, of Spokane.
Hughes, who broke both ankles and suffered cuts on his left side and head, was taken to Holy Family Hospital.
Strzelecki’s face was cut and bruised. She was taken to Valley Hospital and Medical Center.
Two female passengers in the Toyota also were taken to Valley Hospital. Carisa Rayniak, and Jamie R. Riggin, both 19 and from Spokane, suffered head injuries.
