Three Men Charged With Knifing Minister

From Staff And Wire Reports

Three men are charged with stabbing a visiting minister near Garden City and then stealing his rental car.

Held at Ada County Jail without bond were Ernesto Ramaraz, 26, Julio Rodriquez, 18 and Jose Marquez, 30. Ramaraz and Rodriquez were charged with armed robbery and grand theft-auto. Marquez is charged with possession of stolen property.

Deputies did not release the name of their victim, except to say he was a minister from the Spokane area who had come to Boise Saturday for a seminar. He suffered a stab wound to the right hand, a superficial stab wound to the chest and a bruise on the right cheek.

The assault occurred about 6:30 p.m. Saturday at Lady Bird Park on the Western Idaho Fairgrounds. The three apparently asked the victim for a ride to Nampa and when he refused, they attacked him.
