Prep football

Though Lakeside’s Eric Dean had a heavy heart on Saturday, his feet were light, and he used them to rush for three touchdowns as Lakeside beat Deer Park 27-21 at Lakeside.

Dean’s step-father passed away on Thursday due to a heart attack. He finished Saturday’s game with 83 yards. Deer Park quarterback Trevor Baker was 13 for 35 and passed for 193 in a losing effort.

Lakeside enters the playoffs and will face Zillah at a time to be determined.
