Underwear Ads Too Flashy For U.S.
A lingerie company pulled an ad featuring Hillary Clinton after the American embassy complained, the newspaper o Globo reported Saturday.
“It’s a shame,” said Roni Algarji, vice president of the DuLoren lingerie firm. “The ad was meant as a compliment to the first lady.”
The ad features a photo taken during Clinton’s recent visit to Brazil, and shows a seated first lady and a glimpse of her underwear.
The text touted DuLoren’s lingerie and added in smaller print, “A tribute to one of the most important women of the decade.”
The U.S. embassy in Brasilia expressed “strong concern to the government,” embassy spokeswoman Lucille DiPalma said earlier.
