Ncaa Reprimands Alabama State

Compiled From Wire Services

The NCAA placed Alabama State on three years’ probation for violations in the men’s basketball and women’s volleyball and track and field programs.

The NCAA Committee on Infractions accepted several penalties proposed by the university, including postseason bans for the volleyball and track teams, forfeiture of volleyball matches and track medals and reductions in scholarships and recruiting visits for the men’s basketball program.

The committee found several violations, including the participation of ineligible athletes and a lack of institutional control in all three programs.
