Don’t expect Jim Carrey to apologize for the $20 million he’s getting paid for “Cable Guy,” his upcoming movie.
“I refuse to feel guilty,” Carrey told Entertainment Weekly. “I went through periods when I had nothing, so somebody in my family has to get stinkin’ wealthy.”
And don’t expect the “Dumb and Dumber” star to take the blame for the alleged dumbing down of American culture.
“A lot of my stuff is dumb, but there’s smart stuff in there, too. It’s not up to me to educate America. I’m trying to give them relief.
“I had lunch with Steve Martin, and he said, ‘I was feeling bad, I didn’t want to go out of the house, somebody talked me into going to “Ace (Ventura),” I laughed my guts out and it made me feel better.’ (Jerry) Seinfeld said the same thing.”
