Couple Wins $30,000 From Noisy Neighbor

Compiled From Wire Services

A heavy-metal fan received a $30,000 message from a judge: TURN DOWN YOUR STEREO!

Joseph Vallone, 25, was ordered to pay that amount to his neighbors for tormenting them with his wall-shaking, dish-rattling, 200-watt stereo system at all hours.

Michael and Concetta Stiglianese sued after enduring three years of Vallone’s music. The couple, who lived in an attached home next door, kept a diary of their auditory hell.

The Stiglianeses were awakened 23 times by the metalhead’s car stereo; there were 85 episodes where the music made their house shake; they called the police 51 times. When they complained, Vallone would turn up the volume.
