Broken Glass Leads To Burglary Arrest

From Staff Reports

Broken glass on a man’s clothing led police to arrest him for burglarizing a north Spokane restaurant early Saturday.

Daniel R. Coy, 27, was arrested for second-degree burglary about 1:30 a.m. while he walked north on Market, about one block from Bend Restaurant.

A man with long, scraggly hair tried to get into the restaurant at 2721 N. Market minutes earlier by breaking a window, said Dick Cottam, a police spokesman.

Police said Coy matched the descriptions given by witnesses and his clothes were covered with glass particles.

Two witnesses identified Coy as the burglar, Cottam said.
