Teen Gets Longer Term Than Sought In Killing

Compiled From Wire Services

A 16-year-old has been sentenced to nearly 14 years in prison for fatally shooting a former police officer during a confrontation over two stolen motorcycles.

The youth had nine felonies on his record when he killed former San Francisco police officer Orin Hargraves on April 29, the judge noted in imposing a sentence of 13 years and eight months. Several were for assaults, including the shooting of a friend.
