The college cash crunch is beginning, and deadlines are looming for applications for scholarships. Your best bet for finding the most and largest scholarships is with your high school career centers, or with the public library.

Here’s one scholarship we heard about. Pass it on.

High school seniors whose parents own a business are eligible for a $500 scholarship offered by Padgett Business Services.

Applying students must be graduating this year, and their parents must be active owners of at least 10 percent of the stock or capital in a local business that employs fewer than 20 people.

The deadline is March 1 and winners qualify for a grand prize scholarship of $4,000. For an application and further information, call 838-8575.
