Judge Blocks Review Of Insurer

A judge has temporarily blocked a state review of Pierce County Medical’s financial records.

State insurance examiners had planned to start collecting computer records this week.

Lawyers for Pierce County Medical wanted the review delayed, arguing it was unfair while the Tacoma-based health insurer and Insurance Commissioner Deborah Senn are in the midst of a dispute over the size of a company rate increase for individual customers.
