Eleanor Larson Coeur d’Alene

Memorial service for Eleanor Anne Larson, a Veterans service officer, will be held at 1 p.m. Dec. 9 at First Presbyterian Church, Coeur d’Alene. Interment will be at Forest Cemetery. Yates Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.

Mrs. Larson, 80, died Monday at home.

She was born in Coeur d’Alene, and graduated from St. Maries High School and Kinman Business College.

She married Evert Larson in 1941 in St. Maries. After World War II they moved to Coeur d’Alene.

Mrs. Larson worked as a service officer for the Kootenai County Veteran’s Assistance Office from 1963 until she retired in 1981.

She was a member of the First Presbyterian Church.

She enjoyed sewing, reading, bridge and playing the piano.

Her husband of 22 years died in 1963.

Survivors include two sons, Dr. William Larson, San Diego, Calif., and James Larson, Otis Orchards; one brother, Matt Moshinsky, St. Maries; seven grandchildren; and one niece.

John Harris Spokane

Graveside service for John C. Harris, 80, was Monday at Davenport (Wash.) Cemetery.

Mr. Harris, who died Nov. 13, was born in Sandersville, Ga., and had lived in Spokane since 1947.

He worked for Kaiser Aluminum as a metal turner and most recently in custodial service.

He served in the Army Air Corps during World War II held memberships with the Moose Lodge and the Southern Baptist Church.

Mr. Harris is survived by his wife of 50 years, Lois Harris; one daughter, Candace Collins of Parma, Idaho; one son, John Harris of Las Vegas, Nev; two sisters; one brother; three grandsons and one great-grandson.

Memorial contributions may be made to the American Heart Association.

Max Krakenberg Hayden, Idaho

Service for Max William Krakenberg, 74, was Tuesday at Yates Funeral Home in Coeur d’Alene. Burial followed at Forest Cemetery in Coeur d’Alene.

Mr. Krakenberg, who was born in Seattle, died Nov. 17.

He grew up in Coeur d’Alene and graduated from Highline High School in Burien, Wash.

He later served with the Navy Seabees during World War II. After his military discharge, he began a career in steel fabrication in Seattle.

He married Nina Murfitt in 1953, and they lived in Seattle, where he was a superintendent at Flohr’s Steel Fabrication.

He retired in 1980 and moved to Hayden in 1988.

Mr. Krakenberg enjoyed hunting, fishing, gardening and car restoration. He was a member of the Masonic Lodge in Des Moines, Wash., and the Scottish Rite Nile Temple in Seattle. He also was active in Scouting and DeMolay.

Survivors include his wife, at home; two sons, Max and Dennis, both of California; two daughters, Katherine McCollough and Nancy Flanary, both of Spokane; three brothers, John of Selah, Wash., Robert of Hood Canal, Wash., and David of Veradale, Wash.; a sister, Jan Sylte of Athol, Idaho; nine grandchildren, three great-grandchildren and numerous nieces and nephews.

Memorials may be made to the Shriners Children’s Hospital in Spokane.

Alyce Scrivner Spokane

Private service for Alyce (Gordon) Scrivner, 68, will be at a later date. Hazen and Jaeger Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.

Mrs. Scrivner died Nov. 18.

She was born in Elgin, Ore.

She married William Scrivner in 1948, and they moved to Spokane in 1967.

Mrs. Scrivner was a homemaker.

She is survived by her husband, Bill; three sons, Kevin Scrivner of Pullman, Gordon Scrivner of Kennewick and Kennon Scrivner of Spokane; one sister, Donna Lou Berget of Forest Grove, Ore.; six grandsons and two granddaughters.

Hazel Jolley Spokane

No service will be held for Hazel Jackson Jolley, 77. The Cremation Society of Washington is in charge of arrangements.

Mrs. Jolley died Sunday at home of ovarian cancer.

Born in Pomeroy, Wash., she graduated from Pomeroy High School and from Western Washington University in Bellingham with a degree in elementary education.

She taught in Centralia, Wash., until 1942, when she moved to Spokane and continued teaching. She married Clifford Jolley that same year.

Mrs. Jolley moved with her husband during his military career and returned to Spokane from 1948 to 1953.

They retired to Spokane in 1976.

Mrs. Jolley is survived by her husband; two daughters, Susan Williams of Lake Oswego, Ore., and Mary Ann Okonski of of Libby, Mont.; two sisters; and four granddaughters.

Geraldine ‘Jeannie’ Moreland Spokane

Memorial service for Geraldine A. “Jeannie” Moreland, 54, was at the Ridgeview Christian Center.

Born in Butte, Mont., Mrs. Moreland moved to Spokane with her family when she was a year old. She died Wednesday.

She graduated from Holy Names Academy in 1959 and graduated from Spokane Community College, receiving her licensed practical nurse’s degree. She had worked at Eastern State Hospital, Holy Family Hospital and Cheney Care Center before retiring in 1992.

Survivors include two daughters, Marci Pence and Kris Belfils, both of Spokane; two sons, Ron and Steve Moreland, both of Spokane; two sisters, Ruby Wesselman of Denver, Colo., and Louise Graham of Deer Park; one brother, Alvar Strom, of Spokane; and one granddaughter.

Colleen Walker Spokane

Memorial service for Colleen Kelly Walker, 37, is planned for 2 p.m. Saturday at Emmanuel Lutheran Church in Reardan, Wash. People’s Memorial in Seattle is in charge of arrangements.

Mrs. Walker, who was born in Spokane, died Monday from cancer.

She graduated from Reardan High School in 1976. She graduated from Eastern Washington University and received her master’s degree from there in 1989.

She worked as a kindergarten teacher at Medical Lake Elementary School for the past five years.

She is survived by her husband of nine years, Tim Walker of Spokane; her parents, Howard and Nadine Kelly of Reardan; and her sister, Kathy Henthorn of Spokane.

Memorial contributions may be made to Emmanuel Lutheran Child Center, Reardan Library, or the Spokane AIDS Network.

Timothy Suchland Odessa, Wash.

Service for Timothy Suchland, 46, was Wednesday at Heritage United Congregational Church Sanctuary. Burial was at the Odessa Cemetery.

Mr. Suchland died Nov. 18.

Born in Odessa, he graduated from Odessa High School and Eastern Washington University.

He operated Pro Sights and Sounds Video in Odessa and had been working in the accounting department of the Odessa Union Warehouse.

He is survived by his mother, Ruth Suchland of Odessa; and five brothers, Dick Suchland of Auburn, Wash., Craig Suchland of Anchorage, Alaska, Bob Suchland of Ballard, Wash., Bill Suchland of Pleasanton, Calif., and Ted Suchland of Odessa.
