Hundreds of admirers and international skating champions bid a mournful farewell to Olympic star Sergei Grinkov at Moscow. Following a candlelight memorial service at the rink where Grinkov used to skate, he was buried at Vagankovskoye cemetery. Grinkov, 28, collapsed and died of a heart attack at Lake Placid, N.Y., Monday while he and Gordeeva were practicing for a show… . A memorial service was held for Lee Rogers, who made it to the major leagues as a pitcher in 1938 and then split that season between the Boston Red Sox and Brooklyn Dodgers. Rogers died Thursday. He was 82… . Texas Christian running back Matt Moore remained hospitalized in serious condition with a neck injury. Moore had “initial paralysis” from the chest down after colliding with a teammate during practice Friday, said Glen Stone, TCU associate athletics director-sports information. … Doug Graber, with only two winning seasons in six years as Rutgers football coach, will be fired, The Home News-Tribune of East Brunswick reported. Highly placed sources told the newspaper that the university plans to make the announcement Monday or Tuesday. Graber’s best season was 1992, when Rutgers was 7-4.
