Library Bond Issue Back On Ballot

From Staff And Wire Reports

A $7.6 million bond issue for Spokane County libraries will be back on the Feb. 6 special election ballot.

Voters rejected the same measure in September. It received 56 percent approval, but 60 percent was required.

The library district’s board of trustees decided Nov. 16 to try again.

Board members say the money is needed to add computers, expand and modernize libraries, and build a Deer Park branch.
