Police Arrest Man After Chase From Factory
Police chased and arrested a man late Friday following a burglary at the Inland Empire Fire Protection company in northeast Spokane.
The burglar scaled a barbed wire fence and ran from the business at 3832 E. Boone after police chased him back into the building. He got into his car and raced from the scene as police gave chase.
Police stopped the car at Mission and Greene and arrested 38-year-old Larry Powell.
Officers said they saw Powell coming out the front door of the business when they arrived about 9:40 p.m. They said Powell ran back inside and tried several other doors before he found an escape route and climbed the fence.
He suffered minor cuts and torn pants from the barbed wire.
Powell, who gave his address as 1824 N. Nelson, was booked into the Spokane County Jail after being charged with second-degree burglary, obstructing an officer and driving with a suspended license.
