Lamb-Weston Buys Stake In Turkish Firm
Lamb-Weston Inc., a Kennewick-based french fry processor, said Tuesday that it has acquired an interest in a Turkish frozen potato company, furthering its reach into Europe and the Mediterranean.
Lamb-Weston and Dogus Holding Corp., a diversified company based in Istanbul, have bought equal share of Bolu Patates, or Bolpat, for an undisclosed amount.
Bolpat is Turkey’s largest frozen potato processor, according to a Lamb-Weston statement.
Lamb-Weston, a subsidiary of Omaha-based ConAgra Inc., operates 13 production plants in Washington, Idaho, Oregon and Holland. The company employs 6,000 people.
