Man Arrested In Hotel Robbery
A man accused of robbing a Spokane hotel also is suspected of posing as a fire marshal to steal cash, police said Tuesday.
Anthony L. Lockridge, 38, was arrested early Monday on suspicion of robbing the Cavanaugh’s Inn on Fourth Avenue, the Spokane Police Department said.
Police suspect he also posed as a fire marshal to steal money at Frankie Doodles restaurant, the Shilo Inn and the Bel-Aire motel, beginning Sunday night.
At Frankie Doodles, 30 E. Third, he told an employee he needed about $80 or he would close the restaurant. He left without getting any money.
Police found a man fitting the suspect’s description entering the Thunderbird Inn at 120 W. Third. Police stopped Lockridge and cited him with criminal impersonation, but didn’t take him to jail.
Shortly after midnight Monday morning, a man who fit Lockridge’s description robbed Cavanaugh’s on Fourth. Police went to Lockridge’s address at 1518 E. 10th and arrested him moments after he arrived in a car driven by a woman.
Jeanette Johnson, 26, who gave her address as 3221 E. Bridgeport, also was arrested in connection with the robbery. Police discovered more than $500 hidden under the seat of the car, money believed to have been stolen during the robbery.
Johnson was released from Spokane County Jail Tuesday. Lockridge remained in jail on $100,000 bond.
