Realtors Collect 22 Tons Of Food Spokane-Area

Realtors collected more than 44,000 pounds of food during their 12th annual food drive last weekend.

Nearly 700 Realtors and other volunteers picked up bags in Spokane and the Valley that residents had filled with donations.

The food was given to the Spokane Food Bank and will provide more than 35,000 meals for needy Spokane residents.

Cheney Realtors collected another 2,000 pounds of food, which will provide nearly a month’s supply of emergency food for the Cheney Food and Clothing Bank.

The Spokane Food Bank provides emergency food to nearly 13,000 people in crisis situations every month. Half of that food is for children.
