Woman Backs Over Grandson

A woman backing her car out of a Spokane Valley garage ran over her 14-month-old grandson Wednesday morning, sheriff’s deputies said.

The child was in critical condition Wednesday at Sacred Heart Medical Center, Cpl. Dave Van Wormer said.

Laraine E. Herner didn’t see her grandson when she backed out of her garage at 8120 E. Glass about 10 a.m, Van Wormer said.

If deputies find that Herner accidentally ran over her grandson, no charges will be filed, Van Wormer said.

The boy suffered severe head injuries. His name wasn’t released. , DataTimes
