Great Falls Coach Wins 101st

Great Falls High football coach Dale Pohle was quiet about the significance of his team’s 21-12 victory over Kalispell last weekend.

It was his 100th win in 15 years at the school.

“We don’t worry about that kind of stuff,” he said Wednesday. “I was aware of it, but what I was thinking about Saturday morning was Missoula Hellgate,” which his team edged 30-26 on Friday night.

Pohle joins Jack Johnson of C.M. Russell in Great Falls and Jim Tuss of Helena Capital as the only current Class AA coaches with 100 or more wins.

Pohle’s record at Great Falls is 101-51.He had a 5-14-1 record in 1971 and 1972 at Great Falls Central.
