NOTABLE
The Hawks lead this series 3-1, yet have never played in Buffalo.
The teams have one common opponent - Denver. Buffalo lost 22-7 in the season opener at Denver, while the Seahawks topped the Broncos 27-10 in the Kingdome.
The Hawks are coming off their worst defensive effort in seven seasons, giving up 531 yards at Oakland last week.
The offense wasn’t much better, failing to convert a single third-down play - only the fourth time in team history they’ve gone an entire game without a third-down conversion.
Rookie receiver Joey Galloway caught his first touchdown pass as a Seahawk against Oakland, pulling in a 35-yard score.
Defensive tackle Joe Nash will tie Steve Largent’s team record of 200 games played.
ANALYSIS
Oakland’s no-huddle offense killed the Hawks last week. So what do they face now? The Bills’ no-huddle K-Gun offense.
Who does inexperienced Seahawks left tackle James Atkins have to face this week? Only all-world defensive end Bruce Smith.
Can Seahawks quarterback Rick Mirer escape with his faculties in tact?
The Bills will be without great receiver Andre Reed - good news for the Seahawks secondary.
This one might not be hopeless for Seattle. It’s possible the teams’ records are misleading as the teams the Bills have defeated have a combined record of 7-15, while the teams to which the Hawks have lost are 13-5.
Unless somebody can block Smith, the only important number will be whether Mirer can take the 10-count.
