Perles Drops Suit

Former Michigan State football coach George Perles apologized for suing the university over his firing and said he is dropping all legal action against the school.

Perles said he was upset at negotiations over his dismissal when he had his attorneys file the lawsuit in August.

“I made an error in judgment and filed suit. I should have had enough patience and waited until the process was finished,” Perles said.

Michigan State has continued to pay Perles his base salary of $148,000 a year, but Perles claimed he lost outside income related to a television show and endorsement contracts.
