Judge Denies Spokane TV Station’s Request
A judge has denied a Spokane television station’s request to have a camera in the courtroom for upcoming proceedings in the case of accused double murderer Wenkai Li.
Second District Judge John Bengtson issued the ruling recently on KHQ-TV’s request as he considers a host of pre-trial motions in the case.
Wenkai Li, 25, a University of Idaho graduate student from Beijing, is scheduled to stand trial starting Nov. 6 on two counts of first-degree murder for the Memorial Day stabbing deaths of University of Idaho doctoral student Ning Li and his wife, Xia Ge.
