Swap Guns For Tickets At Kingdome Event

People will be able to swap their firearms for tickets to upcoming entertainment and sporting events under a gun exchange Saturday at the Kingdome.

It’s the second consecutive year the event has been held at the Kingdome. Last year, more than 200 unwanted firearms were collected and later melted down at a foundry by Seattle police.

Ticketmaster is again sponsoring the event, the finale of YWCA’s “Week Without Violence.”

Only unloaded guns in working condition will be accepted.

Participants will receive a voucher for each gun they turn in. The vouchers are redeemable for two tickets to a variety of events, including Mariners, Seahawks and Sonics games, concerts and several theater performances.

There is no limit on the number of guns turned in, although the maximum number of tickets a person can receive is six.
