World decathlon champion Dan O’Brien of Moscow, Idaho, is one of eight track and field athletes nominated for the Jesse Owens Award.

Sprinters Michael Johnson and Gwen Torrence are also among a group of eight gold medalists from this year’s World Outdoor Track and Field Championships who have been nominated for the award.

The award is presented annually by USA Track & Field to the outstanding U.S. performer.
