These Houses Are Frightfully Decorated
Looking for fright tonight? The Valley definitely has its share of scares, with three options for the hauntingly inclined.
Washington Special Olympics, Inland Northwest chapter, is hosting its “Tunnel of Screams” at University City Shopping Center, just across from U-City Pets. Organizer Mary Stark says the “amazing maze” will scare the pants off even those with suspenders. All proceeds go toward a good cause, too - helping the 1,200 area Special Olympians experience the joy of athletic competition.
The house is open from 4 to 9 p.m. today and every day except Sundays. Sunday hours are 2 to 5 p.m. Tickets are $3.
Also, any actors interested in being on the other end of the monster mask should call Stark at 924-6165.
West Valley High School’s sixth-annual “Spookiest Haunted House” is also offering a howling good time this weekend. The fun happens at Walk in the Wild Zoo.
The WV class of 1996 will be frightening thrill-seekers tonight from 6 to 11 p.m. There will also be a “lights on matinee” for the younger tykes on Sunday from 3 to 5 p.m. The fun starts again Oct. 25 and runs through Halloween. Weekday hours are 6 to 10 p.m.
The cost is $3, and all proceeds go toward this year’s senior class allnighter.
Valley Repertory Theater’s fifth-annual haunted house makes a screaming return as well. The theater is located at at the southwest corner of Sprague and Pines. Hours are 7 p.m. to midnight on Fridays and Saturdays. The spooky spectacle is also open Sunday, Wednesday and Thursday from 7 to 10 p.m. The house extends its hours from Oct. 29-31, with scares happening from 7 p.m. until midnight.
Tickets are $5.
The haunted house is the theater’s biggest fund-raiser of the year.
