Andre Tulleners Coeur d’Alene

Funeral Mass for Andre P. Tulleners, 82, will be today at 10 a.m. at St. Pius Catholic Church in Coeur d’Alene. Burial will follow at St. Thomas Catholic Cemetery in Coeur d’Alene. English Funeral Chapel of Coeur d’Alene is in charge of arrangements.

Mr. Tulleners, who was born in Holland, died Saturday at Sunset Terrace Nursing Home in Coeur d’Alene.

He married Elisabeth Storms in 1939 and immigrated to the United States in 1949, settling in Wisconsin.

He lived in the Midwest until moving to California in 1953. He moved to Coeur d’Alene in 1970.

Mr. Tulleners worked as an electrical and mechanical engineer for North American Aviation in California. He later worked as an engineer for the Bunker Hill Co. before retiring in 1977.

He was a former ham radio operator.

He was preceded in death by his wife in 1993.

His survivors include four sons, Frederic of California, Paul of Hayden Lake, Idaho, Andre of Spokane, and Matthew of Post Falls; four daughters, Lisette Luchini and Adrienne New, both of Cataldo, Idaho, Sylvie Claflin of Post Falls and Mary Sibulsky of Coeur d’Alene; one brother, Henri of Australia; one sister, Antoinette Folmer of Holland; 31 grandchildren, three great-grandchildren and one stepgreat-grandchild.

Memorials may be made to the Religious Education Fund, c/o St. Pius Catholic Church.

Ruth Warnke Pullman

Service for Ruth Elizabeth Warnke, 84, is set for 2 p.m. today at Kimball Funeral Home in Pullman. Burial will be at Pullman City Cemetery.

Miss Warnke died Friday at Pullman Memorial Hospital from a heart attack.

She was born in Boise and graduated from Oregon State College with bachelor’s and master’s degrees in physical education. She taught physical education in Oregon and her hometown of Boise and became chairwoman of girls physical education at Boise High School.

In 1951, she entered the secretarial field and worked at Syracuse (N.Y.) University.

In 1952, she moved to Pullman and and was head resident at Davis residence hall. The next year she joined the office administration department of Washington State University as an associate professor with the College of Business and Economics. She retired in 1976.

She was a member of the Pullman Senior Citizens, the American Association of Retired Persons, the WSU Retirees Association, Kappa Delta sorority, Kappa Delta Pi, Parthenia and Euterpe.

She is survived by one sister, Margaret King of Boise.

Memorial contributions may be made to Pullman Child Welfare or Pullman Council on Aging.

Marie ‘Betty’ Zigler Newport, Wash.

Service for Marie Elizabeth “Betty” Zigler, 75, will be at 2 p.m. today at Sherman-Knapp Funeral Home in Newport. Burial will follow at Newport Cemetery.

Mrs. Zigler died Saturday.

She was born in Newport and graduated from high school there.

Following World War II, she worked in Newport as a clerk at J.C. Penney. During the early 1950s she worked as a GTE telephone operator.

As a dance instructor, Mrs. Zigler operated a Newport dance school specializing in tap and ballet.

She is survived by her husband of 10 years, Don; four sons, Dennis O’Brien and Robert ‘George’ Wallis Jr., both of Priest Lake, Idaho, Harry O’Brien of Sandpoint and August Wallis of Spokane; one daughter, Janette Bradbury of Priest Lake; five grandchildren and three great-grandchildren.

Memorial contributions may be made to the American Heart Association.

Richard Carvell Spokane

Burial service for Richard Earl Carvell, 65, is planned for 9 a.m. today at Holy Cross Cemetery. Hennessey-Smith Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.

Mr. Carvell, who was born in Cleveland, died Oct. 17.

He had lived in Spokane for 31 years and was a janitor for the YWCA.

Mr. Carvell was a member of the Disabled American Veterans.

Survivors include one daughter, Christina Reeb of Spokane, and one grandson.

Jerry White Sr. St. Maries

Memorial service for Jerry Wayne White Sr., 37, will be today at 2 p.m. at Yates-Hodge Funeral Home of St. Maries. Yates-Hodge Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.

Mr. White, who was born in Indiana, died Sunday.

He moved to Long Beach, Calif., in his teenage years.

He married Mary Fisher in the mid-1980s.

He enjoyed his friends and also loved to walk.

Survivors include his wife, at home; two sons, Jerry and Waylon, both at home; his father, Travis White of Colorado; his mother, Joyce Dahlby of St. Maries; six brothers, Howard White of Colorado, Gene White, Travis White and Larry Joines, all of St. Maries, and Terry and Tom White, both of California; three sisters, Karen Brewer, Loretta Russell and Sandy Robinson, all of St. Maries; and two stepsisters, Angel and Nettie White, both of Colorado.

Anne Parazoo Spokane

Funeral Mass for Anne M. Parazoo, 74, will be at 10 a.m today at Spokane Tribal Longhouse. Burial will be at Moses Cemetery in Ford, Wash. Ball and Dodd Funeral Home-South is in charge of arrangements.

Mrs. Parazoo, who was born in Nespelem, Wash., died Sunday.

She was a homemaker and had lived in Spokane for 40 years.

She was a member of the Colville Tribe of Indians.

Her husband, Michael Parazoo, preceded her in death.

She is survived by several cousins, Richard and Iva Eli, Elizabeth Van Etten, Leon Alexander, Melinda Morning Owl, Mary Lou Wilson and Samuel Bohn.

Mary ‘Lou’ Cline Deer Park

Graveside service for Mary Lucille “Lou” Cline, 77, will be at 1 p.m. today at Wildrose Prairie Cemetery in Deer Park. Lauer Funeral Home in Deer Park is in charge of arrangements.

Mrs. Cline, a longtime Deer Park resident, died Friday.

She was born in Spokane and graduated from Mead High School in 1935. She was a homemaker and worked with her husband on their ranch at Wildrose Prairie for many years.

She was chosen as Eagle’s Mother of the Year in 1993 and Eagle’s Grandmother of the Year in 1994.

She was a member of Eagles Lodge No. 3564 Auxiliary, the Deer Park Veterans Foreign Wars Auxiliary No. 3067, and the CB Club.

Her husband, Herb Cline, died in 1992.

She is survived by two sons, Bob Cline of Deer Park and Jim Cline of Spokane; two daughters, Dee Fisher of Deer Park and Betty Lu Grey of Spokane; one sister, Dorothy McVay of Spokane; 13 grandchildren and 23 great-grandchildren.

Karen (Strand) Hurry Otis Orchards

Service for Karen Marie (Strand) Hurry, 53, was Monday at Hazen and Jaeger Valley Funeral Home. Burial was at Greenwood Memorial Terrace.

Born in Seattle, Mrs. Hurry died Thursday at home.

She graduated from Central Valley High School and was a 50-year Spokane resident.

She was a homemaker.

She is survived by her husband of 34 years, Glen Hurry; one daughter, Teresa Cook, and one son, John Hurry, both of Spokane; her mother, Myrna Iverson of Deer Park; one sister, Janet Bibby of Leavenworth, Wash.; and two grandchildren.
