Fbi Prepares For Games
The FBI and CIA are working together to deal with “substantial” threats to security at next summer’s Atlanta Olympics, top administration officials told senators in Washington.
The FBI is taking the lead and is getting help from the CIA in assessing the potential threats from foreign terrorists, Deputy Attorney General Jamie Gorelick said at a hearing of the Senate Intelligence Committee.
The light tower that collapsed and killed a worker at the Olympic stadium in Atlanta last spring was carrying four times the weight it was designed to because an engineer miscalculated the weight of the lights.
