Driver Hospitalized After Hitting Tree

A Post Falls man was hospitalized in fair condition Sunday after his pickup slammed into a tree near Hauser Lake.

Michael E. Pogue, 32, drove off a curve near 5880 Cloverleaf Lane shortly before 2 a.m., according to Idaho State Police Cpl. Jordan Ferguson.

Pogue was driving a four-wheel-drive 1977 Ford pickup.

Pogue told authorities he was not wearing a seat belt. Alcohol was believed to be a factor in the crash.

Pogue was taken to Kootenai Medical Center, where he remained Sunday night. , DataTimes
