Chase Ends In Police Parking Lot
It was bad enough for the driver of a car being chased by police when he went the wrong direction down two one-way streets, but his next wrong turn was even worse - right into the police parking lot.
In seconds the man was boxed in by patrol cars and arrested for investigation of eluding police, Sgt. Roy Willson said.
Officers also confiscated jewelry boxes and a hypodermic needle to determine whether there was any connection to a theft at a jewelry store, Willson said.
He gave the following account:
An officer on foot patrol Wednesday saw a man stash something under the driver’s seat of a car in an alley and drive the wrong way down a one-way street.
As the car turned into a parking lot between two office buildings, the officer radioed for help, got into his patrol car and gave chase with help from two other police cars.
The driver headed the wrong way down another one-way street, then zipped into another parking lot, the one used by police.
End of chase.
