Vandals Hit Capitol Buildings

From Staff And Wire Reports

Most of the buildings on the Capitol Campus, including the Legislative Building, Temple of Justice and Cherberg office building, were vandalized with grafitti during the weekend, the State Patrol says.

State Patrol troopers discovered the vandalism Sunday around 6 a.m. Someone had used blue spray paint to scrawl names or “tags” in 15 to 25 places on the granite buildings.

A damage estimate was not immediately available but patrol Sgt. Jim Green said it was extensive.

Green said it was the worst incident of vandalism to the buildings in years.
