Rodman Demands Raise
Dennis Rodman says he will sit out this season if he doesn’t receive a contract extension from the San Antonio Spurs or any team that might trade for him.
“I have been discredited, treated wrong, abused the last several years,” the 34-year-old forward said. “I want to be respected and paid. Rookies have been getting $6 and $7 million. I’ve been getting $2 million to do what I do. I’d rather just sit out.”
The Boston Celtics have officially notified the National Basketball Association and agent Steve Kauffman that they have no intention of stopping Dominique Wilkins from playing in Greece this season.
Celtic forward Xavier McDaniel is also on his way to Greece. McDaniel agreed to a two-year contract with the Iraklis club in Thessaloniki.
The Coos County district attorney’s office in Coquille, Ore., has decided not to prosecute James Robinson of the Portland Trail Blazers in connection with a sexual assault allegation.
Debra Moran, 26, of Coquille, and Robinson have reached a civil agreement.
