New Faces:
Scott Brown has joined Genstar Land Co. Northwest as development manager for Eagle Ridge, a master-planned residential community. Brown has more than eight years of experience in the real estate industry and is a licensed attorney. Most recently, he served as vice president and asset manager for Pentzer Development Corp.
Barry Roach has joined the Spokane General Office of New York Life. Roach will specialize in business and estate planning in Washington, Idaho and Oregon.
The McGregor Co. has filled three key positions:
Mike Erickson was named manager of the Pullman branch. Erickson previously worked as an agronomist for InterMountain Cargill in Idaho Falls, Idaho, and in Reardan, Wash. He was recently certified by the American Society of Agronomy as a certified crop adviser.
Mark Welter, a certified crop adviser and a certified professional agronomist, was named manager of the Pomeroy branch. Welter brings 10 years of experience in agricultural research, including five years with Washington State University’s wheat breeding program, and most recently with McGregor.
Stewart Wuest was appointed research agronomist in McGregor’s research and development department. Wuest, who received a doctorate in soil science from the University of California at Davis, was previously the coordinator for the STEEP II On-Farm Testing Program in Washington, Idaho, and Oregon.
Amy Ownby has joined GroMedia as operations manager. Ownby has 15 years of service-oriented experience, including positions in the hospitality industry, with the YMCA and the Salvation Army. She received a bachelor’s degree in marketing from San Diego State University.
Kristine Dale has joined Jacoy’s Travel Emporium as a full-time agent. Dale has more than two years of experience in the travel industry.
Melanie White has joined Janek Co. Real Estate as an associate broker.
Carolyn Morrison, director of The YWCA’s Alternative To Domestic Violence Program, has been named to the board of directors of the Washington State Coalition Against Domestic Violence. Morrison also serves as chair of the Spokane County Domestic Violence Consortium Committee.
Edward Allen has been appointed manager of United Security’s downtown branch, 222 N. Wall. Allen has more than 25 years of experience in the banking industry and is on Momentum’s board of directors. He attended the University of Washington’s Pacific School of Banking and the University of California’s Boalt Hall Law School.
John Riherd has joined the law firm of Perkins Coie as a partner in its Spokane office. Riherd will focus his practice on health care and school law. Riherd was previously with Medical Service Corp. of Eastern Washington where he was a senior vice president and general counsel.
Moving Up:
Cindy Anderson has been promoted to assistant vice president and branch manager for Washington Trust Bank’s Northgate branch. Anderson most recently served as operations manager at the Northgate branch.
Starting Up:
Dr. Bradley Shern has taken over Dr. William Belobraidich’s practice in the Paulsen Center. Shern is a graduate of the University of Idaho and of Washington University School of Dental Medicine. He served five years in the U.S. Army Dental Corps.
Liz Perkins has opened “Solo Cuts,” a professional hair care shop, at the Spokane International Airport.
Gregory Lockwood, Craig Barrile, and Elsie Cadena, all graduates of Gonzaga University School of Law, have opened Lockwood Financial Inc., a collection agency which specializes in collecting delinquent accounts in Spokane, Stevens and Pend Oreille counties.
Washington Trust Bank has opened a branch at 407 N. Sullivan. The branch - Washington Trust’s 25th - will offer a large drive-in banking area, and extended banking hours for customer convenience.

John S. “Jack” Ranck has been awarded lifetime certification as a senior professional in human resources. Ranck is president of Top Ranck Management, a Loon Lake-based consulting firm.
