Victims Found In Classified Ads

From Staff And Wire Reports

A 26-year-old Seattle man accused of using classified ads to find victims has been charged with two counts of first-degree robbery.

Joseph Anthony McDaniels took part in two heists over the past few months involving a real estate agent showing a house in Bellevue and a Bothell, Wash., man trying to sell baseball cards, King County prosecutors allege.

The first robbery occurred in March when a group of three men tied up a real estate agent at an open house which had been advertised in a newspaper.

According to charging papers filed Sept. 6, McDaniels and two other men showed up at the house. McDaniels then punched the real estate agent and knocked him to the ground. As McDaniels held the victim down, the other two suspects tied up the agent with speaker and electrical wire, said Deputy Prosecutor Sheila Weirth.
