Jim Tatum singled in Jay Gainer in the ninth to give the Colorado Springs Sky Sox an 8-7 win over the Salt Lake City Buzz Friday night and the 1995 Pacific Coast League championship.

The Sky Sox, who beat Tucson 3-1 earlier in the playoffs to reach the championship, edged Salt Lake City 3-2 in the best-of-five series. It was the second league title for the Sky Sox, who won it all in 1992.

Colorado Springs has reached the PCL playoffs in six years of the team’s eight-year history. xxxx
