Miller Moving To Tnt

Compiled From Wire Services

Cheryl Miller, who resigned Friday as USC’s women’s basketball coach, will be named as a National Basketball Association reporter for Turner Broadcasting today.

Turner Sports executive producer Mike Pearl said Miller, 31, would become mainly a studio contributor in the network’s NBA coverage but would also work some as a sideline reporter during games.

Turner televises three games a week during the regular season and during the playoffs through the conference finals.

Pearl said Miller signed a multi-year contract.

Fred Williams, associate head coach of women’s basketball at Southern California the past two years, was selected to replace Miller as the new coach of the Trojans.

Williams, 38, was an assistant coach at Southern California from 1984-91 and spent two years as an assistant at UC Irvine.

He was a 1979 All-Big Sky first team selection at point guard for Boise State, and played briefly for the NBA’s Utah Jazz and Chicago Bulls.
