Ross Shoots 65 To Set The Pace In Pro-Senior
Billy Ross of Wandermere, off a sizzling 28 on his first nine holes, claimed pro honors in the regular-season finale of the Washington Trust Bank Pro-Am on Monday.
Ross had a 28-37 for a 5-under-par 65 to edge Chris Mitchell of Sun Dance and Mike DeLong of the Coeur d’Alene Resort, who shot identical 34-32-66, in the Pro-Senior at Hayden Lake Golf and Country Club.
Craig Schuh of Deer Park shot 67 as 10 of the 59 pros but just one of the 236 amateurs broke par.
Karl Ota of Liberty Lake was the amateur leader with a 68.
Mitchell’s Sun Dance group won the team competition by three shots with a 109.
The WTB series winds up at Manito Oct. 19-20 with the top 20 professionals squaring off in a pros-only format for the first time.
