Diary Of Fdr’s Mother Missing From Estate
Just a few months after it was discovered, a century-old diary by President Franklin D. Roosevelt’s mother has vanished.
The handwritten, leather-bound book written by Sarah Delano Roosevelt details parts of FDR’s childhood.
Patricia Roosevelt, a daughter-in-law of FDR, found it in October in an old trunk containing memorabilia of her late husband, Elliot Roosevelt, her son said.
“I don’t even know if my dad knew he had it,” said Ford Roosevelt, of Van Nuys, Calif. “Mom just flipped when she found it. It’s a wonderfully detailed, rich piece.”
However, caretakers of Patricia Roosevelt’s estate discovered it was missing after her death on April 2.
