Man Assaulted By Four Attackers Demanding Compact Disc Player

From Staff And Wire Reports

A 23-year-old Spokane man was attacked late Friday by four men while walking along a South Hill street.

The four men approached the victim near Madison Street and Ninth Avenue about 11 p.m. They demanded the victim give them the compact disc player he was carrying.

When he refused, the men knocked him to the ground and kicked him in the head and chest, police said.

A couple who came out of a nearby house startled the men, who ran to a parked car and drove off when the couple appeared on the home’s front porch.

The victim was treated by paramedics for cuts and bruises at the scene, but refused to go to a hospital.

Police said the victim was unable to provide a description of his attackers. The car they left in was a white, four-door - possibly a Volkswagen.
