Drawing Set To Pick Roller Coaster Riders

Silverwood Theme Park will use a random drawing to select the first riders on “The Grizzly” roller coaster, set to start up June 1.

Burger King restaurants around the region will participate as “Official Grizzly Information Centers” for the promotion, announced Tuesday by the amusement park located near Athol, Idaho.

The “Great Grizzly Giveaway” sweepstakes will run from April 15 through May 5. Seventeen winners will be selected on May 6, winning a ride on the coaster, free admission to the park and a Grizzly T-shirt, according to a Silverwood release.

Burger King outlets in Moses Lake, Spokane, Coeur d’Alene, Wenatchee, Fairchild Air Force Base, Liberty Lake, Omak, Lewiston, Pullman and Post Falls will participate.

The Grizzly is a 55-mile-per-hour wooden roller coaster. The park opens for the season on May 11, the earliest opening in its history. , DataTimes
