Personal Property Deadline Near

Compiled From Wire Services

Spokane County businesses and for-profit farms have until April 30 to report personal property or face penalties, the assessor’s office said Thursday.

Personal property tax affidavits were mailed several months ago and must be returned by the end of the month. For every month they are late, a 5 percent penalty is assessed, up to 25 percent of the tax bill.

Personal property includes anything mobile, furniture, fixtures, machinery, supplies and office equipment, said Sharon Stern, staff assistant to Assessor Sadie Charlene Cooney.

For more information, call 456-4787, ext. 104 or 105.
