Third Suspect Arrested In Beating
Police arrested a third man suspected of taking part in an attack that left a Spokane man in a coma last fall.
Jake Hatfield, 22, of Springdale, was booked into the county jail on a charge of first-degree assault and later released on bond, police spokesman Dick Cottam said Thursday.
Police believe Hatfield and two other men attacked Jeff Feagan and his younger brother in the parking lot of the Tidyman’s store on North Cedar last October.
Eric Joseph Hood, 22, and John L. Swiger, 23, both of Springdale, were arrested last month.
Feagan sustained a severe head injury when he was hit behind the right ear with a piece of wood. He was in a coma for two months.
He’s still being treated for his injury, Cottam said.
Feagan’s younger brother, who was never identified, was not badly hurt in the attack.
