Blues’ Fuhr Undergoes Knee Surgery
St. Louis Blues goaltender Grant Fuhr had surgery Saturday to repair torn knee ligaments suffered in Game 2 of the first-round playoff series against Toronto.
Fuhr, 33, set NHL records for games played by a goaltender with 79 and consecutive starts in a season with 76. He was injured when Toronto’s Nick Kypreos fell on him, tearing the anterior cruciate and medial collateral ligaments.
Fuhr attempted to practice with a brace earlier in the week but had trouble with lateral movement.
Regarding Fuhr’s future, the Blues said that “will be determined at a later date.”
