Meetings Let Stockholders Get News Straight From The Top
For investors who want a close-up look at a millionaire or a chance to debate a chief executive about how they’re running the company, an annual stockholder’s meeting can be the place to go.
Several companies will hold their annual meeting of stockholders this week, including today’s gathering in Seattle for the Boeing Co.
While the only official business at Boeing’s meeting is a routine election of directors, executives likely will brief shareholders on past financial results and future projections concerning airplane orders and employment levels.
On Tuesday, Itron Inc. in Spokane begins its annual meeting at 9 a.m. at Cavanaugh’s Inn at the Park. Shareholders will vote on a plan to permit employees to buy shares at 85 percent of the market price.
Other annual meetings coming up include Washington Water Power Co. at 3 p.m. May 13 in the Opera House; and United Security Bancorporation at 7 p.m. May 14 in the Quality Inn Oakwood, 7919 N. Division.
