Lutheran School Enrolling Students
Enrollment is open for pre-kindergarten through eighth-grade students at Gethsemane Lutheran School.
Pastor Robert List said students in grades 1-4 and grades 5-8 are grouped into two separate classes. Classes are no larger than 20 students. Pre-kindergarten and kindergarten students are grouped together, if there are 10 or fewer students. Overall, about 35 to 40 students are expected to enroll.
Students who graduate and go on to North Pines Junior High are either at grade level or above, List said.
The multi-age groupings work well, he said. While the teacher works with one grade level, other students work independently.
“It’s interesting how the younger ones learn from the older ones. It becomes more like a family unit.”
School starts on Aug. 28 at 11315 E. Broadway. The school competes in soccer, basketball and softball with other Christian schools around Spokane. “When we can muster up a team, of course,” List said. Spiritual education, art and music are also part of the school program.
Tuition each month is $60 for pre-kindergarten, $90 for kindergarten and $150 for first through eighth grade.
“We’re small scale, but we’re very pleased with our education,” List said. For more information, call 922-7097 or 926-3317.
