Lamm Picks Zschau As Running Mate

Compiled From Wire Services

Former California congressman Ed Zschau, a moderate Republican and high-tech entrepreneur, is Reform Party presidential candidate Richard Lamm’s choice for a running mate.

Zschau, 56, served in Congress as a Republican from 1983 to 1986, when he stepped down to run against then-Sen. Alan Cranston. A relative unknown throughout California, Zschau used television to increase his visibility and lost the election by less than 115,000 votes - out of 7.1 million votes cast.

The former computer disk entrepreneur and one-time IBM executive now teaches at Harvard Business School.
