Obituaries

Clifford Thompson Tekoa, Wash.

No service will be held for W. Clifford Thompson, 83, at his request. Kramer Funeral Home in Tekoa, is in charge of arrangements.

Mr. Thompson was born in Tekoa, and graduated from high school there. He worked for a local farmer.

He entered the Coast Guard in 1942 and served during World War II. He was discharged in 1945 and returned to the Farmington, Wash., area where he had worked as a farmhand.

In 1948, he married Thelma Scott in Missoula. They moved to Addy, Wash., in 1954 and operated a dairy farm. In 1964, they returned to Tekoa, and Mr. Thompson worked as a farmhand for his brother, Carl. He retired in 1978 and lived at the Tekoa Care Center since 1991. He was a member of the Oakesdale Masonic Lodge 55.

Survivors include his wife; four daughters, Helen Thompson of Seaside, Ore., Janice Palmer of Elk River, Idaho, Linda Hand of Spokane, and Carol Whipple of Missoula; three brothers, Howard and Carl Thompson, both of Farmington, and Hugh Thompson of Spokane; a sister, Jean Dellwo of Spokane; three grandchildren and two great-grandchildren.

Memorial contributions may be made to Tekoa Care Center.

Clyde Ruppert Odessa, Wash.

Service for Clyde C. Ruppert, 79, will be at 10 a.m. today at Zion-Emmanuel Lutheran Church in Odessa. Burial will be at Odessa Cemetery. Strate Funeral Home in Odessa is in charge of arrangements.

Mr. Ruppert, who was born in Maywood, Neb., died Wednesday.

He married Iva Irene (Pete) Spitz, in 1937, and they settled in Leadville, Colo. He worked in mining and moved in Odessa in 1974, owning the Chevron station in Odessa for many years.

His wife, Iva, died in 1992.

Mr. Ruppert is survived by two brothers, Glen Ruppert of McCook, Neb., and Claude Ruppert of Arizona; two grandchildren and five greatgrandchildren.

He served in WWII and was a member of Veterans of Foreign Wars.

Harold ‘Dean’ Nagley Spokane

Memorial service for Harold “Dean” Nagley, 77, will be at 2 p.m. today at Audubon Park United Methodist Church. Ball and Dodd Funeral HomeNorth is in charge of cremation.

Born in Cashmere, Wash., Mr. Nagley died Thursday.

He graduated from Kennewick High School and had lived in Spokane for 28 years. He retired from the Union Pacific Railroad after 43 years, in 1984.

He was a member of Audubon United Methodist Church, the Hokey Pokey Dance Club, El Katif Shrine, Scottish Rite, LaCrosse Masonic Lodge 155, Elks Club 288, Spokane Rose Society, the Union Pacific Old Timers and National Association of Retired and Veteran Railroad Employees.

He is survived by his wife of 49 years, Vi Nagley; two daughters, Cheryl Myers of Beaverton, Ore., and Stephanie Nagley of LaJolla, Calif.; a sister, Jane Butler of Waitsburg, Wash., and two grandchildren.

Memorial contributions may be made to Audubon Park United Methodist Church or Holy Family Adult Day Health.

Carol Frucci Spokane

Service for Carol Ann Frucci, 53, is set for 10 a.m. today at Hennessey-Smith Funeral Home. Burial will follow at Fairmount Memorial Park.

Mrs. Frucci died Thursday.

She was a lifetime Spokane resident, and graduated from North Central High School. She was a secretary in the credit reporting business for 34 years and had most recently worked as an office manager at Qualifax, Inc.

She is survived by her mother, Jane Frucci of Spokane; a brother, Dominic Frucci, and a sister, Patricia Danis, both of Spokane. Memorial contributions may be made to the Morning Star Boys Ranch.

Doris Nixon Spokane

No service will be held for Doris J. Nixon, 78, Hennessey-Smith Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.

Born in Salem, Ore., Mrs. Nixon died Wednesday.

She had lived in Spokane since 1958 and worked as a secretary in the medical field. She was a member of Plymouth Congregational Church.

Her husband, Robert Nixon, died in 1987.

She is survived by two sons, Bradford and Gerald Nixon, both of Culver City, Calif.; a daughter, Pamela Thompson of Spokane; a brother, Robert Schunke of Salem, Ore.; six grandchildren and three great-grandchildren.

Memorial contributions may be made to the Muscular Dystrophy Association.
