Michelle Church, who helped the Washington Huskies finish as runners-up at the College Softball World Series, has been honored as the NCAA Woman of the Year for the state of Washington.

Church, a first basewoman from Riverside, Calif., with a career batting average of .335, was a three-time Pacific-10 Conference selection in her Washington career.

She had 20 homers and 225 RBIs for the Huskies.

Church, a 3.43 student as an English major, is a candidate for NCAA Woman of the Year.
