North Pacific Lumber To Buy The Moore Co.

Compiled From Wire Services

North Pacific Lumber Co. has agreed to buy The Moore Co., a 49-year-old wholesaler of consumer electronics.

The deal merges two privately-owned Portland companies seeking strength through diversification.

Moore sells consumer electronics, appliances and computer and telecommunications products. The company, with 45 employees, posted revenues of nearly $30 million last year, said owner Randy Miller.

North Pacific, with 750 employees nationwide, buys and sells lumber, plywood and other forest products. It has annual sales of more than $1 billion, said Steve Johnson, president of the company’s global services division.
