Boy Rescued By Gorilla Better

Compiled From Wire Services

The condition of a 3-year-old boy who was rescued by a female gorilla has improved, the hospital said Saturday.

The boy fell 18 feet into a zoo primate exhibit and suffered critical head injuries. His condition was upgraded to serious on Saturday.

His parents have asked that he not be identified.

The primate exhibit was re-opened Saturday, with no additional bars or guard rails, said Teri Gruca, the human resources administrator for the Brookfield Zoo.

“There’s no reason to make any changes to the structure, to the best of our knowledge,” Gruca said.
